Operations Reports - Lessons Learned  Quarterly reports that outline and assess Battalion operations, services, equipment, maintenance, personnel issues, successes, problems, and recommended corrections.  In some instances they also list promotions, unit and individual awards, officer transfers and separations. Some were very detailed some were not. Most contain from 15 to 30 pages of information.
Roster's  - Form DA3053 Includes any official military personnel rosters, or manifest, ie. company, platoon, squad, etc. Not all are on file and some are of very poor quality due to processing for microfiche at the National Archives.  Officers Rosters (Battalion) were compiled separately from enlisted personnel. Official company rosters were collected by Brigade Headquarters and available in a computerized format in the first and third quarters of each year of deployment during the Vietnam War.
Computerized Roster

Unofficial company, platoon, and squad working rosters were printed by typewriter whenever the need arose within the unit, and are not on file at the archives.

Typed Roster

Among the reasons for being listed on a morning report are: Promotion or demotion - Being killed, wounded or missing in action - Being assigned to a unit, or leaving a unit permanently or temporarily- Going to a hospital for inpatient treatment and receiving light duty, or to another activity for training. Not all are on file and some are of very poor quality due to processing on microfiche at the National Archives.

Soldiers names, units, assignments, and communications are often listed. Some are very comprehensive and detailed, some are not depending on the year and type of operations being performed by the Battalion.
