The Need For Official Military Records .... In many instances when filing a claim for disability assistance the burden of providing the official records to support the claim is YOUR responsibility. Obtaining the needed records can be frustrating and time consuming, especially since it has been 30+ years since many of you departed the service, and you have no idea of what records might contain the information you need, or where those records might be located.  Having researched most of what is available from the Battalion Vietnam experience, I have compiled (below) a list of links to assist you in your search, regardless of service era.

Association History Project Records ....

Throughout the past ten years the History Project, and other battalion veterans have at their own time and expense, gathered documents, media reports, photographs, and personal information, used to post our history on the website. These records have been archived and I will be more than glad to research the archive and provide association members with copies of any records I may possess.... if they are needed to support your disability assistance claim, or for other legitimate research. You may be asked to reimburse the Reunion Association for any cost in copying and postage. Please contact me if you have any questions (below).

Records Available In Our Archive.... RECORDS INDEX

I have also opened individual Personnel Archive Files under the names of all Vietnam veterans contained in any official records, media articles, or photographs obtained by the History Project... when the veteran was a member of a unit that was attached organic or subordinate to the Battalion at the time the record was generated. I have also opened archive files on Veterans from all other eras for any documents other than rosters. The documents, media articles, and photographs are crossed referenced to each veterans file. All but personal information contained within the files is available to association members if needed for legitimate reasons.
