Vietnam History Project

In June of 1968 I attended basic training at Fort Campbell, Kentuckey. I was then sent to Fort Gordon Georgia to complete Military Police training.  From Military Police school I received my orders for Viet Nam.

I arrived in Viet Nam in November 1968 and was assigned to Company B of the 720th MP Battalion, lolcated on Long Binh Post in Corps Tactical Zone III.

When I arrived at B Company the 1SG (William Warnick) asked if I could type.  When I replied to the afirmative I was immediately assigned as the company clerk. All my MP training was not used.

At the end of my 12 month tour in Viet Nam I was reassigned to Fort McPherson, Georgia until being Honorably Discharged.

I am proud of the year I spent in Viet Nam and all those who served with me and I would not trade it for anything.  There is no greater country than the USA.

I retired from the USPS in 2002 after 32 years service.  I now reside outside of Nashville Tennessee in a small town called Kingston Springs.

Thanks to all those who served in Vietnam.
