LTC Charlie Green

     In 2017 LTC Charlie Green received command of the Battalion from LTC Karst Brandsma.

     LTC Charlie Green was born in 1978 in Yuba City, California. He graduated from Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina, with a degree in International Relations and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Military Police Corps through the College’s ROTC program in May 2000.

     Upon completion of the MP OBC at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, he served as a Basic Training Company Executive Officer from February 2001 to February 2002 in Echo Company, 795th MP Battalion. LTC Green served as a Platoon Leader in the 463rd MP Company, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and deployed his Platoon to Doha, Qatar, from May through November 2002. LTC Green concluded his time at Fort Leonard Wood by completing MPCCC.

     In April 2004, LTC Green was assigned as an Assistant Operations Officer in the Brigade S3 of the 18th MP Brigade, Mannheim, Germany. He deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, with the brigade headquarters in support of the OIF 04-06. Following redeployment, LTC Green commanded the 92d MP Company from July 2006 until May 2008. Following command, LTC Green was selected for the JCS/ARSTAFF Intern Program. Following attendance at Georgetown University, LTC Green served on the Joint Staff in the J-5 Middle East from June 2009 – June 2010, HQDA G-3 ODO from June 2010 – September 2010, deployed to Afghanistan to serve with NTM-A Police Development from October 2010 – September 2011, and completed the Program by serving from September 2011 – June 2012 as a Strategic Planner with the Office of the Provost Marshal General.

     In June 2012, LTC Green was assigned to the 95th MP Battalion, Sembach AB, Germany, from June 2012 to June 2014. He served as the Battalion S3 for seven months and a Battalion Executive Officer for sixteen months which included, the inactivation of the 95th MP Battalion. Following his duty in Germany, LTC Green was assigned to serve as the MP Field Grade Assignment Officer, OPMD, HRC, Fort Knox, Kentucky, in July 2014 until July 2016.

     In July 2016, LTC Green was assigned to the 89th MP Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas, where he served as the Deputy Brigade Commander.

     LTC Green’s awards include the Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), and the Army Achievement Medal (1OLC). His badges include the US Army Parachutist Badge, the Joint Staff Identification Badge, and the Army Staff Identification Badge.
