Photo A0161: The Department Of The Army Civilian Quarters, nicknamed the DAC Shack by the MPs of the 720th MP Battalion, Tokyo, Japan 1954. I was located across the street (Avenue W) to the North of the NYK Building, Headquarters of the 720th MP Battalion. It has been reported that some of the MPs had high powered binoculars, just to keep an eye on the place from their building. If you look to the upper right quarter you can see three Japanese civilian workers cleaning windows from the outside ledge. They would work all around the building one ledge at a time on the outside, without any safety restraints and wearing their traditional clog shoes. Courtesy of PFC John M.
