Photo A0201: A member of the 720th MP Battalion and a Japanese police officer jointly directing traffic at the intersection of Ginza and Avenue "Z," Tokyo in 1946. The burned out Mitsukoshi Department Store in the background was soon after restored, and in the early 1970s Macdonald's opened its first Japan outlet on the ground floor. While the facility only did take-out business, it quickly became the highest volume MacDonald's in the world.
