28 February With the deactivation of HQ and Service Command, the battalion was assigned subordinate to Camp Tokyo, a newly designated command with headquarters at Camp Drake, which embraced Metropolitan Tokyo and a large area east, north and west of the city. |

Concurrently with this change in higher headquarters, the military police personnel of the Camp Drake Detachment were transferred to the Battalion, and the duties formally performed by them became a responsibility of the Battalion. What, if any, numerical designation this detachment held before their reassignment is unknown. The MP patrol sedans assigned to the battalion Camp Drake Detachment from the Provost Marshal's Office bore the bumper markings of the Army Forces Far East Command (AFFECD), 8013th Army Unit. |
