At our detachment the 188th was assigned to the MACV #75 Detachment in My Tho. We had three V100's I was the NCOIC of the one called the Bounty Hunter.

Our main assignment was to patrol, escort convoys and assist the ground troops who were stationed at the firebases along highway QL-4 which ran from Saigon to Soc Trang near the Cambodian border.

Though not much fanfare was given to our units, we were involved in more enemy ambushes on convoys especially in a area called "Ambush Alley." The other two units we had were named the Head Hunter, and the Widow Maker. Of course I have photographs to back what I say about our units along with movies of the convoys and other military units we assisted with.
