The Tour Comes To An End

13 January The following personnel were assigned to the A Company Unit Fund Committee, CPT James A. Silva (President/Custodian), 1LT Bernal R. Anderson, 1SG Dewey Washington, Jr., SP/5 Robert I. Wiley, SGT Thomas F. Joiner, SP/4 Keith A. Krambeck, PFC John M. Hyde.

CPT Alex T. Delucca, III, was appointed the Vice: Ration Card Control Officer, MACV Card Control Officer, Reenlistment Officer, Records Management Officer, Alternate Censorship Officer and Classified Document Custodian, under CPT James A. Silva.

27 February The following personnel were assigned to the A Company, Unit Fund Committee, CPT James A. Silva (President/Custodian), 1LT Richard Benjamin, 1SG Dewey Washington, Jr., SP/5 Benjamin Van Voorst, SP/4 Don G. Smith, SP/4 John M. Hyde and SP/4 William Titchenal.
May-June-July? With the Battalion preparing for stand-down A Company closed down the Tay Ninh Detachment. All the equipment was return to the company area on Long Binh Post.

20 June The following personnel were assigned to the A Company, Unit Fund Committee, CPT Randall M. Richardson, Commanding Officer, (President/Custodian), SFC Huey P. Calhoun, SSG David E. Shurley, SP/4 Russell G. Kunkel, SP/4 Alveno L. Thompson, SSG Bennie L. Benson, SP/4 John M. Hyde, SP/4 William Titchenal.

PVT John R. Salazar and PVT Richard K. Brown were both promoted to Private First Class (PFC).

4 July SGT Michael O’Brien was assigned as Assistant Security Control Officer for the LTN Provost Marshal Office.
5 July SP/4’s John M. Hyde, and Joseph M. Knotts are designated as Company Mail Clerks with the assistant being SP/4 Jessie L. Williams.
13 August The 720th MP Battalion HQ Detachment departed Vietnam.
31 August All three letter companies were inactivated.
        The 720th MP Battalion continues to serve today stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. The tradition of A Company is now carried on by the 401st MP Company whose motto is, "Demonstrate Lawfulness Throughout The World.”
