From 1966 through 1972 The 615th MP Company and the 720th MP Battalion, separately and or jointly conducted convoy escorts to Xuan Loc, first referred to as Long Gaio then Blackhorse.

The 720th MP Battalion also worked the discipline, law and order mission at Xuan Loc and Blackhorse.

As a result, the histories of the 615th MP Company, and 720th MP Battalion, have been combined in the time lines of the Xuan Loc Detachment and Convoy's to provide the appropriate historical continuity. Due to the volume of information both assignments have been kept separate.
