“SP/4 Jim Leard and I were sent to Blackhorse in mid 1968 to do Internal Security Reviews for any unit that requested them. As I remember we only did one during our two to three month stay there. It was a nice posting with town and post patrol being the only duties to which I was ever assigned, and we did not get shot at or mortared once.

We had a lieutenant and sergeant in command, and I think there were about a dozen enlisted men. In general the discipline was relaxed. We had a POW cage but during my stay we had but one prisoner for just three days, and we held him in the converted CONEX container next to the MP station. It had been made into a cell so we wouldn't have to assign him a guard.”   SP/4 Frederick W. “Rick” Kreidler, B Company, 720th MP Battalion, 89th MP Group, 18th MP Brigade, October 1967-January 1969.
