~ 720th Military Police Battalion Reunion Association ~ Vietnam History Project ~ |
When it comes to war and the defense of democracy American and Australian GI's have been allies and shared the trials and tribulations of war in foxholes since WWII. The political and social life styles also run along a common thread even though our two countries and continents are separated by thousands of miles. This common bond was also shared in the Vietnam theater of war. In the Bearcat Base Camp the 104th Royal Australian Army Signal Squadron Detachment was billeted in the same barracks as the A Company, 720th MP Battalion Bearcat Detachment. Everyone knows that there is not a better test of friendship than sharing a living space when under the stress of war. The accommodations could have been worse if not for the fact that we both shared a common language, or did we? Only kidding Nick. The Veterans of the 720th Military Police Battalion Vietnam History Project extend their appreciation to Signalman Nick Quigley, formerly of the 104th Signal Squadron, Royal Australian Army, and his mates for their assistance in Vietnam and with the 1969 Time Line History of the Bearcat Detachment.
