January

January one month before the Tet Offensive the 179th MP Detachment Provost Marshal MP Desk in Bien Hoa was moved to a new location and building.

31 January During the Tet Offensive the 615th MP Company and B Company escorted ammunition from the 3rd Ordinance Ammunition Supply Depot at Long Binh Post to the Bien Hoa Air Base which like the city was under attack. The urgent need of the supplies made it necessary to run the convoys both day and night.

         During the attack on the Bien Hoa City, twenty-six MP’s from B Company, who were on patrol in the city began working 24 hour days. They watched for snipers, provided general security and supported elements of the 9th Infantry Division.

The Provost Marshal  SSG (MSG Ret.) Donald H. Pruitt, 188th MP Company, 92nd MP Battalion & 179th MP Detachment (PMO), 95th MP Battalion, 89th MP Group, 18th MP Brigade, July 1967 to June 1968.

10 February The 615th MP Company was detached from the 720th MP Battalion and reassigned to the 95th MP Battalion on Long Binh Post. Its duties changed from primarily combat support to more traditional military police functions which included town patrol of Bien Hoa.

        The MPs of the 615th were assigned to perform discipline, law, and order patrols on Long Binh Post; and continued their combined patrols with the Vietnamese M's (Quan Canh) and National Police (Canh Sat) in the city of Bien Hoa subordinate to the 179th MP Detachment (Provost Marshal).
 
        The 615th MPs that worked at the Bien Hoa Detachment billeted and held their Guard Mount at their company compound on Long Binh Post and commuted via patrol jeeps to the city, located just a few miles from post, for their daily combined patrol assignments.
19 February C Company provided a detachment for direct support to the 101st Airborne Division training center, Bien Hoa, consisting of 1 Noncommissioned Officer and 10 enlisted men. The C Company MPs performed the Discipline, Law and Order patrols at the training center.

18 March The C Compant detachment assigned to support the 101st training center was redeployed back to their regular company assignments.
June
18 June SSG Donald H. Pruitt, PMO Operations Sergeant for the 179th MP Detachment, completes his tour.
