Photo G0397: One of the C130 transport planes carrying the 71st MP Detachment (Dog Platoon HQ), 209th MP Detachment (Dog Platoon HQ), 221st MP Detachment (Dog Platoon HQ), 72nd MP Detachment (Dismounted Patrol), 26th MP Detachment (Supervisor), 45th MP Detachment (Animal Care) is refueling in Hawaii during the flight to Tan Son Nhut Air Force Base, Saigon, Vietnam in August 1965. They formed the first Army K9 unit in Vietnam and all would later become the 88th MP Company (K9) before being redesignated as the 212th MP Company (Sentry Dog) on 17 January 1966.
