Photo G0521: MPs of B Company slide the steel CONEX container into the trench excavated into the side of the hill. Gun ports were cut into its sides. Sheets of corrugated steel formed the foundation and were held in place with steel poles and the outside lined with stacked sand bags to reinforce the walls. The earth was ready to back fill around the outside to ground level. The roof was too be finished off with several rows of sand bags. This operations bunker was the primary defensive position at the new outpost under construction on the Finger Of Land in the 720th MP Battalion Tactical Area of Responsibility, south of Long Binh Post, III Corps Tactical Zone, Bien Hoa Provence, Vietnam in June of 1969.
