Photo G0666: When the MPs were constructing the outpost on Hill-15, combat rations were the standard affair for meals. To break up the monotony the MPs would occasionally purchase or trade with the local fisherman for the fresh water shrimp they caught in the rivers that surrounded the outpost. SP/4 Michael J. “Rizz” Rizzo, inspects two of the local shrimp in the early summer of 1969. The outpost, located at the intersection of the Buong and Rach Bien Rivers, was used as a base of operations for the B Company, 720th MP Battalion, 89th MP Group, 18th MP Brigade, ambush and recon teams that worked in the 22 square mile Battalion Tactical Area Of Responsibility, III Corps Tactical Zone, Bien Hoa Provence, Vietnam.
