Photo G0852: The first U.S. Army tab and patch worn by Sentry Dog Handlers in South Vietnam in 1965.
The unauthorized tab (hand made) was first worn with the MACV patch in August 1965 by members of the various K9 Detachments that became the first dog handlers to arrive in South Vietnam and became the 88th MP Company (K9), MACV before being redesignated as the 212th MP Company (Sentry Dog) 89th MP Group, MACV on 17 January 1966.
