Photo G1921: U.S. Army gunboat "Tugs" stationed as security at the Cogido Barge and Docks on the Dong Nai River in Bien Hoa Provence, III Corps Tactical Zone, just southwest of Bien Hoa City in Vietnam in 1966. These boats predate the arrival of the newer PBR’s (Patrol Boat Riverine) of the U.S. Navy, then joint crews by members of the 720th MP Battalion and the 458th U.S. Army Transportation Company (PBR), 89th MP Group, 18th MP Brigade. 020806 These look like 45' Army Tugboats . I believe they were part of 11th Transportation Battalion. I was on an Army 65' tug and hauled ammo and petrol barges to Cogido . We had to transfer the barges to the 45' tugs because we could not go under the Bridge at Cogido. 041711 I was on these tugs 1968 I was the skipper on the ST2070. Ralph Folse was skipper on the ST2068 and I can’t remember who was on ST 2069. I left Vietnam in December 1968.
