Photo G2280: 1LT Charles Smith Executive Officer of C Company, 720th MP Battalion, 89th MP Group, 18th MP Brigade, Vietnam in 1971. 1LT Smith was assigned as Area Provost Marshal (APM) at the Lai Khe Detachment and later assigned as Executive Officer at the company headquarters in Long Binh Post under CPT Raymond F. Cox. He worked up convoys and scheduled over flights for the company for each week and then spent the week either flying convoy over flights or traveling with his driver SP4 Larry D. Christman between the detachments at Cu Chi, Tay Ninh, Lai Khe and Xuan Loc. He was also acting as the Provost Marshal for all area detachments during that time.
