Photo G3123: Unidentified member of the group of first U.S. Army K9 handlers to arrive in Vietnam in August 1965. They were all originally from the the 71st MP Detachment (Dog Platoon HQ), 209th MP Detachment (Dog Platoon HQ), 221st MP Detachment (Dog Platoon HQ), 72nd MP Detachment (Dismounted Patrol), 26th MP Detachment (Supervisor), 45th MP Detachment (Animal Care), of Tilden Park, Berkely, California, consisting of 180 personnel. Upon arrival in Saigon they became the 88th MP Company (K9), MACV. In 1966 they became the 212th MP Company (Sentry Dog), 95th MP Battalion, 89th MP Group, 18th MP Brigade.
