Photo G3492:   Sunken ammunition barge on the Dong Nai River that was headed from Saigon to the Cogido Docks when it and a B Company day reconnaissance team and a C Company River Patrol that was in the same area was ambushed on the Dong Nai River just several miles south of its destination in Bien Hoa Province, III Corps Tactical Zone, Vietnam on 4 December 1967. The barge was attacked with small arms and rocket propelled grenade (RPG) fire by a local Viet Cong Unit from the An Xuan area of the 720th MP Battalion, 89th MP Group, 18th MP Brigade Tactical Area Of Responsibility located on the east side of the river.
