Photo G3624: Village officials and members of the local village Popular Forces set up detainment area No.1 during a cordon and search operation of An Xuan and Long Hung Villages in the 720th MP Battalion, 89th MP Group, 18th MP Brigade 22 square mile Tactical Area of Responsibility (TAOR) south of Long Binh Post in Bien Hoa Province of III Corps Tactical Zone, Vietnam on 27 April 1968. The brick building in the background and the bunkers to its left and right is Outpost-1, the home of the An Xuan Village Popular Forces Platoon and B Company, 720th MP Battalion liaison staff. The French Colonial Forces originally built the building as a three story high watchtower with a sheet metal roof during the First Indochina War of the 1950’s.
