Jerry was a platoon sergeant assigned to town patrol in Saigon with the 716th MP Battalion, and worked as a patrol supervisor when on duty. He was medically evacuated in May 1966 as the result of a parachute accident. As a result of his injuries in May 1967 Jerry was discharged as a SFC with 12 years active duty. |

He entered local law enforcement and served for 3 years as a police officer before finally becoming a federal investigator where he spent the next 25 years. Jerry retired from federal civil service as a GS-15 Supervisory Investigator in 1992. |
