Tam Hiep Checkpoint was located just west of Highway-316, between the western border of Long Binh Post and the eastern border of Bien Hoa.

1967 The checkpoint was staffed by two MPs of B Company, 720th MP Battalion and members of the local Canh Sat (Vietnamese National Police) Detachment. They checked Vietnamese civilian workers who came and went from Long Binh Post and both civilian and military vehicles. Their primary function was to interdict weapons, undocumented civilians and black market contraband.
