Bill served with A Company at Fort Hood, Texas during the last year of his first enlistment. He was reassigned to A Company from the 501st MP Company, 1st Armored Division, where he served as a truck driver.

     He received an MOS change to MP and worked Post Patrol, Gate Security, and Traffic Control Posts. In November-December 1955 he also participated in Exercise Sagebrush in Louisiana.

    Bill retired from the Army as a SFC in January 1975.
