CSM William A. Generali

720th Military Police Battalion, 89th MP Brigade, III Corps
2003 to 2006 ~ Fort Hood, Texas, Operation Iraqi Freedom - I and III

 

        Command Sergeant Major Generali served under two Battalion Commanders, LTC David J. Poirier and LTC Robert M. Taradash. On 15 June 2006 CSM Generali retired and was replaced by CSM Drew J. Craig.

          During his tour with the Battalion CSM Generali twice deployed in the Global War on Terrorism during Iraqi Freedom-I and III.

        Command Sergeant Major William A. Generali was born on 16 September 1961 in Providence, Rhode Island. He joined the Army on November 26, 1979 and attended Basic and Advanced individual training at Ft. McClellan, Alabama to become a Military Policeman. His civilian education includes 99 semester hours of college with an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts. His military education includes PLDC, BNCOC, Drill Sergeant School, ANCOC, First Sergeant course and graduation from the United States Army Sergeant’s Major Academy Class 51. Other functional courses include Air Assault School, Patrol and Narcotic Detector Dog Handler, Military Working Dog supervisor, Customs Certification, Field Sanitation, Conventional and Nuclear Physical Security, and the Unit Deployment Officer course.

        CSM Generali’s first assignment was Fort Belvoir, Virginia from 1980 to 1985 where he served as a M60 Gunner, Military Police Patrolman, and Military Working Dog Handler in the 437 th and 523 rd MP Companies. From 1985 to 1988 he was assigned to Bremerhaven Germany and performed duties as a Kennel master, Squad Leader, and Customs Inspector with the 560 th MP Company. CSM Generali spent the next five years in the Initial Entry Training environment at Ft. McClellan, Alabama as a Drill Sergeant, Senior Drill Sergeant, Mobile Training Team NCO and Operations NCO. In 1993, he returned to Europe and served with the Southern European Task Force as a Platoon Sergeant with the 13 th MP Company, SETAF Infantry Brigade. Upon his return to CONUS during the summer of 1996 he was assigned to the Law Enforcement Command at Ft. Riley, Kansas and served as Bn Operations NCO, First Sergeant, Provost Marshal Office Operations NCO and Bn CSM. In the summer of 2000, CSM Generali attended the Sergeants Major Academy at Fort Bliss, Texas. Upon graduation, CSM Generali performed duties as the Provost Sergeant Major for the 101 st Airborne Division. In March 2003, CSM Generali moved to Ft. Hood Texas and assumed duties as the Command Sergeant Major for the 720 th MP Battalion.
