CSM Heimbuecher was assigned to replace SMG Kenneth Kidd who was reassigned to the 89th MP Group on 17 May 1968. During his orientation tour of the Battalion Tactical Area Of Responsibility he fell from a ladder at one of the Outpost and was seriously injured (broken leg). |
Having to spend an extended period of time hospitalized, CSM Heimbuecher was replaced in October 1968 by CSM Burton E. Morrow.
