28 April President Roosevelt's Fireside Chat on the Progress of the War. Suffering losses in the Pacific and facing uncertainty in Europe, the president calls on Americans to sacrifice and maintain their resolve during the war. Roosevelt particularly addresses the economic concerns of inflation with a seven point program designed to stabilize the economy to meet the country's war needs.
