Paupa Campaign
11 November The Battalion duties consisted of town patrol, traffic control, ship and dock security, and the guarding of military installations, ammunition and supply depots, medical facilities, etc.

B Company A platoon departed Townsville to Portland Roads, Australia, to guard supply depots, docks and military installations. At Mount Isa one of the B Company duties was to climb the approximately 1000 steps to the top and report all aircraft sightings.

In Portland Roads along the Coral Sea, several B Company MP’s took turns at an outpost along the coast spotting and reporting on the movement of any ships passing their location.

C Company Was a part of the defensive forces protecting Port Moresby, New Guinea during the Papuan Campaign.
