1 July The Battalion elements still remaining at Townsville, Australia were relieved of duty by the 800th Military Police Battalion.

     When not engaged in their routine MP duties, the Battalion trained and performed various details such as loading and unloading ships.

12 July A platoon of B Company MP’s departed Australia aboard the Dutch ship Van Heutsy with their destination being New Guinea.

15 July The Van Heutsy arrived at Milne Bay, New Guinea. The B Company platoon set up a bivouac area then began erecting a prisoner of war stockade in addition to performing their regular MP duties.
