4-16 September Allied forces recapture Lae-Salamaua, New Guinea. 11 September The Battalion also provided an Honor Guard and security during the visit of the First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt in Townsville, Australia while she was conducting a good will tour of the South Pacific as a representative of the Red Cross. |
