Operation QUICKSILVER Elements of B Company, 720th MP Battalion consisting of one officer and 23 enlisted personnel were assigned to assist the 1st MP Company, 1st Infantry Division, with the convoy transport escort of the 101st Airborne Division from the Bien Hoa Airfield to the new division base camp located at Phouc Vinh where they replaced the 28th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division.

        Elements of the 552nd MP Company, of the 2nd Field Forces were also assigned to the mission. The 1st & 2nd Squadrons of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, provided route security, cordon and search and recon-in-force missions between Ben Cat and Phuoc Vinh. The operation ran from 23 November to 21 December.

        The 1st Division Provost Marshal, LTC Wittwer, later praised Battalion personnel for their commendable performance.
