Tay Ninh Base Camp Attacked Casualties The Tay Ninh Base Camp was attacked, the detachment barracks and Provost Marshal Office was destroyed and several members of the A Company, 720th MP Battalion Detachment stationed there were wounded.

The base camp received a total of 65 incoming mortar rounds in addition to 5 to 10 enemy sappers gaining entrance to the base camp which was controlled by Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) forces. During the attack several military policemen from the A Company, 720th MP Battalion Detachment and one ARVN interpreter were wounded.

The detachment barracks and Provost Marshals Office was destroyed during the attack and the troops and operations were at once relocated to the Tay Ninh Base Camp Military Assistance Command Vietnam (MACV) compound. The 187th Assault Helicopter Company elements stationed at the base were redeployed to Di An base camp to preclude damage to their aircraft.
