Fort Hood, Texas, 4 March1974

I believe it was in 1974 – SSG Fred "Scooby" Stevens and his partner SGT Bryan Buchannan, both of the 401st MP Company, responded to a domestic complaint. There was a NCO with a shotgun shooting up his house and threatening to kill his wife.

When the patrol arrived they approached the front door and the wife came running out. The NCO was armed with a 12 guage shotgun and he pointed it at his wife.

Scooby told him to "Drop the #!%! Shotgun!"

The NCO who was standing behind a slatted wooden door turned the shotgun toward Scooby, Scooby fired two rounds.  One round removed the guy’s manhood and the second almost blew the guy arm off at the elbow. The review board found it a good shooting.
