In 1974 the 720th MP Battalion was headquartered under the Command of III Corps, at Fort Hood, Texas. |
March |
4 March, 1158 Hours SSG Fred "Scooby" Stevens and SP/4 Brian B. Buchanan of the 401st MP Company were dispatched to a "shots fired" call at Quarters 6412-1. The MP patrol was confronted by a lone male suspect who pointed a shotgun out the storm door at SSG Stevens who in fear for his life returned fire striking the suspect twice. The wounded suspect was taken into custody and transported to Darnall Army Hospital on post. The Criminal Investigation Division was notified and assumed the investigation, which they classified as a justified shooting. |
