5 January, Al Kut, Iraq Members of 2nd squad, 2nd platoon, 511th Military Police Company, 720th Military Police Battalion, 18th Military Police Brigade and the Al Kut Iraqi Police conducted joint checkpoint operations to clear the city of Al Kut of insurgents and help deter crime in the Wasit province. In the last six months random Iraqi Police (IP) checkpoints in Al Kut the IPs have confiscated a variety of munitions, explosives and fake passports from travelers from the main traffic route from Baghdad to Al Kut. The joint check points also serves as part of the Transition Team training mission in the province
