If you have any photographs of Battalion duty uniforms from any era, please feel free to pass them along to the History Project Manager via the Email Link above.

Although the United States Army has always been very strict in its uniform regulations it was not unusual to see major variations depending on your specific duty assignment. This was the rule and not the exception for the Military Police Corps until the birth of the All Volunteer Army.

Many of the differences were instituted due to availability, theater needs, Army, MP Corps, Group, Division, Brigade, Battalion, and Company traditions, or the whim of individual higher authorities. From 1941 through the change to the all volunteer Army there was no consistency in MP uniforms. If anyone can shed any light on the history of the variations, please feel free to pass your information along via the Email Link above.

Unless specifically noted, all the MP uniforms included in this section are from authentic photographs submitted by Battalion veterans.
