B45 was named after SSG Charles "Mother" Murray, B Company, 720th MP Battalion, Can Tho Detachment Desk Sergeant, September 1970 to September 1971, and was used on convoy escorts for the B Company, Can Tho Detachment (IV Corps Tactical Zone, Mekong Delta) , however, it's primary function was to be available as a backup vehicle for V100 Abraxas B44, and used when needed for spare parts.
