The exact date that the original V100 C54 arrived at the 720th MP Battalion and became active is unknown. In 1969 C-54 was being used by C Company on the Quan Loi, 1st Infantry Division "Devils" Convoy when it was destroyed during a convoy ambush. The story of C54 and their heroic crew can be found by visiting the 28 April 1969 Time Line.

18 May 1971 The 720th MP Battalion realigned the combat support and combat service support missions within III Corps Tactical Zone which were previously accomplished by A and C Company. Both companies had similar missions of staffing provost marshal offices and convoy escort duties within the region. The realignment resulted in A Company assuming responsibility for all region provost marshal duties and C Company assuming responsibility for all convoy escort duties. A Company V100, A44 Pig Power was eventually transferred to C Company.

The new V100 was designated by C Company as C54 (the kept the name Pig Power) replacing the V100 lost on 28 April 1969. It also served the MP's of C Company on convoy escorts. When C Company stood down for return to the states, C54 was reassigned and probably ended up with the 615th MP Company and later, in the inventory of an ARVN unit.
