Car History - C-63 "Feelin Groovy" was used from 1971 through 1972 by Charlie Company to conduct convoy escorts and highway security throughout Military Regions II, III and IV. Sometime after January 1972 the C63 was renamed "Beep Beep Youras." Click on map to view the 4 zones and regions > |
Reflection "C-63 was the second V-100 that Terry Davenport and I worked from 30 June 1971 up until the end of January, 1972. When we starting working on this car it was one of the newer ones in the company having only 20,000 miles on it. In October 1971 the car along with two others was fitted with an APC type turret and an automatic 40mm grenade launcher. The car was very dependable and we ran many convoys when other cars went down. In all of July to 4 August we traveled 6,500 miles with C-63. I ended up working convoys up until I left the company on 26 January 1972." SP/4 Charles "David" Spruell C Company, 720th MP Battalion, 89th MP Group, 18th MP Brigade, March 1971 to January 1972. |
