Harassment (to trouble by repeated raids or attacks) and Interdiction (to prohibit use)

     Artillery or mortar fire on suspected enemy defensive positions and targets of opportunity. Defensive fires are planned on known, likely, and suspected enemy locations or routes of travel.

     Known enemy locations are the first priority, followed by suspected and then likely.

     Information for the locations can come from captured enemy soldiers, aerial observation, ground reconnaissance, or electronic sensors's.
