Vietnam Armed Forces Honor Medal

     The Vietnam Armed Forces Honor Medal was instituted in 1953, and awarded in two classes for non-combat contributions to the formation and organization of the South Vietnamese Armed Forces and the training of troops and technical cadres of its various branches.

     The Vietnam Armed Forces Honor Medal was also one of the more commonly award medals to members of foreign militaries, and was frequently bestowed to members of the U.S. armed forces.

It is equivalent to the U.S. Army Commendation Medal.

1st Class Medal was awarded to officers.

2nd Class Medal was awarded to NCO's and enlisted men.
