Loftin, A Company, 720th MP Battalion, examines a package of C4 explosives and Dynamite that were just recovered along with an M16 rifle, ammunition and hand grenades, from a sunken Viet Cong sampan in a small cove on the Buong River, in the Battalion Tactical Area Of Responsibility, Vietnam on 9 December 1967. Minutes after this photo was taken a hidden force of VC opened fire on the combined A & B Company 720th MP Battalion River Patrol Units performing the recovery. Courtesy of SP/4 Robert E.
