Photo G3064: COL William H. Brandenburg (right), Commanding Officer, 18th MP Brigade, Provost Marshal USARV, after presenting PFC James R. Brunotte, B Company, 720th MP Battalion, 89th MP Group, 18th MP Brigade, with a Purple Heart Medal at the, 24th Evacuation Hospital on Long Binh Post in Bien Hoa Province of III Corps Tactical Zone, Vietnam on 3 October 1968. PFC Brunotte was severely disabled and his partner PFC Robert Alicea was killed when their jeep ran over a VC land mine in the Battalion Tactical Area Of Responsibility on 1 October 1968. Before being deployed to Vietnam, PFC Brunotte was COL Brandenburg's driver when he was the commandant at the MP School at Fort Gordon, Georgia.
