Photo G3333: SP/4 Timothy Turpin of the 212th MP Company (Sentry Dog) Scout Dog Unit, 720th MP Battalion, 89th MP Group, 18th MP Brigade, kneeling in front of the USARV Dog Training Detachment compound sign in Bien Hoa, III Corps Tactical Zone, Bien Hoa Province, Vietnam in 1969. It was the location of the in-country school where all 212th MP Company Sentry Dog Handlers received their transition training from Sentry Dog to Scout Dog Handlers. The detachment primarily served as an In-Country reception point for certified Army Scout Dog Handlers and where the teams would receive in-depth orientation from experienced Army trainers prior to shipping to their respective in-country units. Note: The silhouettes of the K9's on the sign indicate a German Shepherd and Labrador Retriever.
