     Command Sergeant Major Wayne M. Butterbrodt is a native of Mount Holly, NJ. He enlisted in the Marine Corp in July 1992 and attended Basic Combat Training at Paris Island South Carolina where he honorably served for 4 years. In 1997 he enlisted in the Army and attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, GA. On 20 March 2000, he reclassified to Military Police and completed Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

     His duty assignments include: A Co 1/327th Infantry Battalion Fort Campbell, KY; 272nd MP Co, Mannheim Germany;14th MP Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Charlie Co and Foxtrot Co, 787th MP Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; 194th MP Co, 716th MP Battalion, Fort Campbell, KY; Echo Co 795th MP Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; 287th Military Police Company, Fort Riley, KS; HHC United States Army Garrison, Fort Riley, KS; 3-393 Brigade Engineer Battalion, First Army, Division West/Fort Hood, TX; United States Sergeant Major Academy, Fort Bliss, TX; HHC 89th MP Brigade, Fort Hood, TX.

     Overseas Assignments include Okinawa, Japan; Mannheim, Germany; Task Force Constanza I &II, Romania; Ramadi, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (08-09).

     During his career, Sergeant Major Butterbrodt has served in various positions such as Gunner, Team Leader, Squad Leader, S3 Training NCO, Drill Sergeant, Senior Drill Sergeant, Drill Sergeant Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Rear Operations Plans NCO, Small Group Leader, First Sergeant, Senior Military Police OC/T, and Brigade S3 Sergeant Major.

     Command Sergeant Major Butterbrodt’s military, civilian education and training include Infantry Basic and Advanced Training, Air Assault School, Area NBC Course, Military Police Advanced Individual Training, Warrior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Anti-Terrorism Project Managers Course, Hazardous Material Course, Drill Sergeant School, Airborne School, Senior Leaders Course, Instructor Total Army Instructor’s Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, Combative Level 1-3 Courses, First Sergeant Course and Company Commander’s/First Sergeant Course, Battle Staff Course, Observer Controller and Trainer (OC/T) Course, Master Resiliency Trainer, and Pre-Command Course. He has a Bachelors Degree in General Studies from Allied American University and Master’s Degree in Public Administration from University of Texas El Paso.

      His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), Marine Corp Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal (with Bronze Star), Kosovo Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 2), Army Service Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and the NATO Medal. He has also been awarded the Meritorious Unit Citation , Army Superior Unit Award, Air Assault Wings, Drill Sergeant Badge, Airborne Wings, German Sportsmanship Badge (Gold) and the Drivers Badge (W). He is a recipient of the prestigious Order of the Marechaussee Bronze Award.

      Command Sergeant Major Butterbrodt is married to his wife Melissa. They have four children, Derek (27), Keaton (18), Travis (16), and Sydney (6) .
