LTC Weinstein (COL Retired) served as Battalion Commander from 15 January 1967 to 1 July 1967.

       During his tour as commander the Battalion participated in Operation's Cedar Falls, Junction City, Manhattan, and Billings.

        Dedicated the new Battalion Mess Hall and Chapel, oversaw the start of construction of permanent Adam's Hut billets to replace the tents.

        The Battalion also started Operation Rifle the medical casualty escort missions, suppressed the first riot at the MACV Stockade (Long Binh Jail) on Easter Day. Initiated the Bien Hoa City Discipline-Law Enforcement Patrols.

        Oversaw planning stages for the start of the new infantry mission, Operation Stabilize in the 22 square mile Battalion Tactical Area Of Responsibility.

        On 1 July 1967 LTC Weinstein passed command to LTC Francis E. "Frank" Payne.
