On 24 July 2006 SSG Richard Gesell, age 49, of Long Grove, Iowa, was found unconscious shortly after physical training and was transported to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, Texas, where he was pronounced dead by Bell County Justice of the Peace Bill Cook. |
Richard entered the military in March, 1987, and was assigned to the 720th Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, as a military police officer since January 2003. He deployed to Iraq from November 2004, to November 2005. |
