110607 Need Help: Served in Long Binh, Vietnam 10/69-12/70. Need to get in touch with a fellow MP who also served in A Co. 720 MP Battalion, Long Binh. His first name is Tommy. He was a thin, red head who I remember as a real good kid. I believe he was reassigned with other MP’s to another location in Vietnam, not that long after I arrived in country. One day I had an accident and somehow managed to walk right into the pulled down antenna on our jeep. It struck me in the eye. Tommy drove me to the 24th Evacuation Hospital (I think) where I received medical attention. A patch was put on my eye and I was laid up for a week, back at the base in Long Binh. When the week was up I returned to duty, black eyed and bruised. To the best of my knowledge I never returned for any follow up treatment at the 24th. Luckily I took close up pictures after the patch came off because I don’t think anything was ever documented. As a 60 year old I am now being examined for nerve damage I believed was caused by the accident. Only Tommy can confirm what happened that day as well as duty rosters saying I was off duty due to injury. At the time of the injury I was a PFC.
If anyone can help me out it would be appreciated. I can be reached at Mrob729@hotmail.com

033109 Greetings to everyone.  I need help with identifying an incident that occurred on Hwy 1A at the Dong Nai River Bridge.  A Lambretta loaded with civilians were hit with a Claymore that detonated, probably due to the fire the PF were using to clear weeds. There was a CID investigation and both the MPs were cleared of any wrong doing.  This occurred around late 1969 or early 1970.  I was one of the MPs, but I need my partners name and maybe a date.

121014 .Concerning hill 15 sometime in February 1969. A few days before Squad-76 ambush and recon were assigned to set up ambush at the brick factory I remember it well because it was my birthday Feb. 18. The guys felt I should have something special on my birthday so we went to a nearby house to meet with some ladies of the night. Waiting for my turn as the radio man that night I propped up my radio out side the building and the guys were to watch it for me while I went inside........ Well someone of superiority came by and everyone scattered leaving me with my pants down and my radio outside.

Our punishment was to be Hill-15 a place that would be a nightmare. Sent to Hill-15 during intelligence report of some NVA regiments on their way to LONG BINH FOR FREE C RATIONS. We know this to be true because many dead NVA were flung with p38s around their necks. On the hill we cleared away trees on the top by wrapping C4 at the. base and blowing it up. At one point an axe was propped against the tree and flew past my head. All night long spooky flew overhead firing tracers all around the hill .I thought this is it the place where I'll breath my last breath. No sleeping here. In the morning exhausted we were to recon the area. Not one dead body. The enemy now occupied the hill and was firing at us.we took cover a d soon a landing craft pulled up with troops and M16 M60 and 50 cal. support. The big door dropped and the troops came out. Across the river from the other hill someone fired an RPG it missed and left a nice puff of smoke for about 30 soldiers could zero in on and we did. Afterwards only the birds could be heard. Recon the area walking in mud up to our knees made it exhausting especially after a night of no sleep. One more encounter by Charley in the open rice paddy and I collapsed from head exhaustion along with CPL Watson and we were medivaced out. SP/4 Bruce D. Bohm, B Company. carbuff57@yahoo.com

051113 I found your reunion site while doing a search to find out more about my Dads (SGT Patrick "Rocky" Sedwaie) experience in Vietnam, something he never spoke about. I never knew he was in Vinh Long. When he returned back to state side he never slept after the sun set so that told me a lot about his experience there. I wanted to let you know my dad passed away 5/25/03 at 56. An unfairly short life. His death certificate reads 'from Agent Orange induced lung cancer'. I was with him when he took his last breath. I have found some old pictures of him from over there with dates of 67',68',69' on them. Obviously he was there for the Tet offensive. Is it possible that anyone on your web site might know or remember Dad? I'd like to learn more about his experience there. Any help is appreciated. I will try and dig up some photos, which are at Moms house. Thank you for your service. Proud son of a lifer! Tom Conway taconway@q.com
