The French Fort convoy was part of the Tay Ninh, Bu Dop (Bo Duc), and Bu Gia Map (Dijamar) convoy run, situated along the Cambodian border north of Tay Ninh. The exact location has yet to be determined.
As with most of the other small bases in the same area it is believed that the base was under operational control of a U.S. Special Forces Group and later turned over to an Army Of The Republic Of Vietnam (ARVN,) Ranger Battalion under Military Assistance Command Vietnam (MACV) sometime in the 1970's during the Vietnamization process.
